Unfortunately, too many cities that say they want less car use and more public transport, bicycles and walking actually have parking policies that totally contradict those goals.
They can do much better.
That was the theme of a 13 minute presentation I gave last week on parking policy to the "Technical Deep Dive on Vitalizing Urban Neighborhoods and Space through Transit Oriented Development".
The Technical Deep Dive was a week-long event organized by the World Bank Tokyo Development Learning Center (TDLC). Many thanks to TDLC for inviting me.
The Day 4 session I was in was open to the public and TDLC has already made the video public. So I decided to share it here.
I named my presentation "Make parking policy consistent with plentiful, well-used public transport".
